LAUGHTER IN ASHBY–DE–LA-ZOUCH
Funhouse Comedy Club returns to the Lyric Rooms, Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Thursday May 2nd for another night full of laughter, food, drink and good old fashioned fun!
Topping the bill is the charismatic and highly talented Sony Award winner, Tom Wrigglesworth, comedian, Radio and TV presenter and voice-over artist who has had two series’ on BBC Radio 4.
An articulate and natural raconteur, he possesses an innate ability to riff with an audience like they’re old friends. His warm and hilarious tales, told with true passion never fail to captivate everyone.
Opening the night will be the acerbic ‘Mancunian’ comedian and writer Alex Boardman, known for his unique brand of ‘flattery and abuse’ which is done with a lack of malice and a big sense of fun. His improvised witticisms, loved-up reminisces and tall tales can lead anywhere on any given night.
Also appearing will be winner of Funhouse's Should I Stay or Should I Go competition and semi-finalist in British Comedian of the Year, the up-and-coming Jacob Nussey who draws in audiences with his low-status, surreal, and often dark style.
Completing the line-up is 3 Wise Men with their musical improvisations.
Compere for the night is the energetic and chatty Spiky Mike.
Curry with your comedy?
Why not save on the washing up and enjoy a home made authentic curry before the show. We use local producers and suppliers and receive rave reviews on our chef's speciality curries. Curries are just £7.50 and come with the usuals gubbins.
No need to reserve your curry just visit the stage upon arrival. For dessert we have a superb array of flavours of local dairy ice creams from the wonderful cows at Bluebells for just £3.00 a tub.
